About Me
I'm a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / QA
Automation Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience testing
front-end and back- end web applications. I'm most proficient in
JavaScript/TypeScript with Jest, Cypress, and Postman. I also
implement GitHub Actions and similar CI/CD processes that run
unit/integration tests and catch linter errors on every push,
with environment-specific tests across dev, QA, and production,
because confidence in software comes from finding what breaks
before customers do.
During my nearly five years in the U.S. Navy, I learned to stay
disciplined, follow procedures, stay calm under pressure, and
document everything. I also learned that every mission follows a
lifecycle: define the problem, plan and design a solution, build
it, test it, then maintain it. Software works the same way, and
in testing I bring that structure through a set of habits:
reproduce the issue, document it precisely, and deliver a
well-tested fix that can be maintained through automated testing
and CI/CD pipelines.
I transitioned into tech in 2020 as a full-stack developer,
which gave me a view of testing from both sides. On the front
end, I reproduce, isolate, and resolve bugs across browsers and
devices. On the back end, I test API routes and resolve issues
in how they handle data. Because I understand how this code is
written, I know where it breaks and how it fails in front of
real users.
What that looks like in practice:
-
Test automation: Jest unit and integration
tests and Cypress end-to-end tests
-
API testing: Postman saved collections that
verify endpoints return only the intended data
-
CI/CD: GitHub Actions and GitLab CI running
tests and ESLint on every push
-
Defect isolation:
reproducing bugs in Chrome DevTools and BrowserStack and
tracing them to the source
-
Lifecycle: real-world understanding of the
software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the software testing
lifecycle (STLC)
